In 1998, the Blackbaud software system was purchased to manage alumni information. After researching and extracting information from 30 years of student records, our Alumni database was created. If you are not receiving mail from the Academy, please contact the Development Office with your mail and email address and phone number for home and work. Also, please stay current with your major life changes, marriage, children, career, etc.
What does the Development Office do?
- Currently maintains a database of over 4,000 records with up to date names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, career, employer, education, & degrees, marriages, children, parents, siblings, etc. for all constituents (Current, Past, & Former Patrons, Alumni, Board, Grandparents, Founders, Companies, Foundations, and Friends)
- Generates mailing lists for sport competitions, i.e. basketball, football, golf
- Facilitates networking opportunities for alumni
- Prepares mailing lists for reunions, publications, and invitations
- Promotes school and activities-special events, socials, and reunions
- Solicits Annual Giving and receives all donations to the Academy
- Records and acknowledges all donations of pledges, cash, stock, planned giving, matching gifts, and gifts-in-kind
- Provides support to the Alumni Association and Executive Board
- Acts as liaison between the Alumni Association and SA administration
- Promotes and fosters close relations with patrons and the community
- Public Relations- extends Southampton Academy's name and mission
- Publishes Alumni news letters
- Gathers feedback from alumni with comments and suggestions
- Prepares statistical reports for the Board and administration Maintains strict confidentiality
