Tuition covers a significant portion of the cost of education, principally faculty and staff salaries. Additional costs are associated with enrollment at Southampton Academy including capital fees, finance charges (deferred payment), the hot lunch program, and auxiliary programs such as extended day, day care (on days when school is closed), and after-school activities. Bus transportation may also have an additional expense.

The Academy has a program to support K-12 families with demonstrated need.

2024-2025 Tuition

Additional Fees

This fee covers visit, testing, and expenses associated with the admissions process.

This fee is per student and required at enrollment with a max of $900 for new families.

This fee subsidizes the costs related to student activities (field trips, field day, athletic events, etc.) that require bus transportation. The activity fee is billed with tuition and due with the first payment.

CAPITAL - $1,500
This fee is a one-time per family fee for students enrolling in K-12. It may be paid in full, over two years at $750/yr, or over three years at $500/yr. If not paid, balance is required upon withdrawal.

Monthly and quarterly payments are remitted by bank draft through the FACTS Tuition Management Company. The cost for the service is $45, and for all deferred tuition payments, a finance charge of 18% is applied.

Variable Fees

Lower School (grades K-5) students receive textbooks to use at the beginning of the year, as well as supplemental consumable materials.  The books are leased to students.  That fee and the costs of supplemental materials are billed to parents in the fall and can be viewed in FAMILY PORTAL.
Middle School (grades 6-8) students purchase textbooks and workbooks from an approved list.  Some required classroom materials and gym uniforms will be billed in the fall and can be viewed in FAMILY PORTAL.
Upper School Students (grades 9-12) purchase textbooks and workbooks from an approved list.  A Chromebook capable of running the latest version of Google Chrome OS is preferred for all students during the school day.

The hot lunch program varies from $6.00 to $8.00, dependent upon grade level and quantity of food ordered.

The before school and after-school care program is available from 7:00 a.m. until the start of school and from 3:08 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The program is billed based upon hours attended.

The Academy buses from southern (NC), north and western (Emporia/Stony Creek), and eastern (Franklin/Suffolk) routes. Fees for transportation services are determined based upon the radius of the bus stop from the school. Click here to view an interactive map with the bus routes, stops, and fees.
